Pastor Bill planned to start off the day with a quiet time for all of us. Pastor Mike first led us in a devotion at this great location.

Each of us then found our own quiet place to be with the Lord for a short time beneath this mountain. We then returned to the bus and went to the Tel Dan Nature Preserve.

This is where the Dan River, one of the sources of the Jordan river, exist north of the Sea of Galilee. We enjoyed the hike through the beautiful countryside.

Our guide explained to us the rich history of the walled ancient city of Dan. The explanation of the inner and outer gates to the city was a real education.

This is a wonderfully preserved example of the city gates as well as the walls. Next we visited the Hermon Stream Nature Preserve also north of the Sea of Galilee.

Here is the cave of Pan which at one time had a temple built in front of it. Here is an artist's impression of what the area must have looked like when the temples were in use.

These are more ruins of the temples. This is Mount Herman where the springs emerge at the foot of the mountain.

These springs create the Dan, Herman and Senir streams which are more headwaters of the Jordan River. This is the Herman Spring which is the largest.

On to Kursi National Park which has been excavated to reveal a monastery and community homes. Our guide fills us in on this rich history.

Pastor Bill did some of the archeology digs here to uncover many of the residences of the monks of the monastery Many areas have yet to be uncovered when finances are available.

Much of the monastery has been recovered and areas identified.
