This mountain, overlooking the hotel, is believed to be Mount Sinai where Moses received the ten commandments. We climbed Mount Raphidim where Moses struck the rock to get water for the Israelites..

Ralph explored the small cave which was used as a monk's living quarters. The top of the mountain had been used as a monastery. We got a great view of the valley below.

Here are the others waiting for us at the bus below. This is the oasis below supplied by the water that Moses brought forth.

The valley below contains Bedouin dwellings. Her are more Bedouin dwellings in the valley.

On our way down some of us bought trinkets from the Bedouin woman. Pastor Bill Hild gave the children of the community a soccer ball.

This is our first glimpse of the Gulf of Suez. This was Morah, the first camp of Israelites.  The water was bitter here and God caused Moses to make the water sweet.

We stopped at this restaurant for lunch. The only meal they had was chicken with spaghetti. They also had sandwiches. Here we are all eating together.

We saw this passenger train passing in the desert. All the way to Cairo we saw desert and mountains give way to just desert.

This is a view of Cairo, Egypt. This is then Nile River flowing through Cairo.

The pyramids can be seen beyond Cairo. The city extends right up to vicinity of the pyramids. Tonight we stayed at the InterContinental hotel in Cairo, Egypt. Our best accommodations yet.

This is a view of the large swimming pool in back of the hotel.
